Towards the end of April every year, the EUATC (European Union of Associations of Translation Companies) organises a conference, inviting the main translation companies from its member states to attend. The conference is held in a different country each year, giving EUATC’s members the opportunity to discover a new European city, usually a capital.
Lisbon was chosen as the host city in 2015, followed by Budapest in 2016. This year, Berlin had the honour of welcoming the 12th annual EUATC conference from 20-21 April.
The programme included:
- A presentation of the results of the 2017 EUATC survey on the European translation market
- Translation product and software demonstrations
- Workshops on specific themes
- Debates and round table discussions
And most importantly, an opportunity for networking!
With 22 member states and as many companies from each country, the large number of attendees had plenty of chances to mingle! Some spent their coffee breaks getting to know companies from other countries, discussing the market and current practices elsewhere in Europe, and even forming partnerships or discovering new ideas.
Finally, the gala dinner held on the Thursday evening was the undeniable highlight of the conference!
